How search tracking works
When you order through PersonFinder, your search status updates as it moves through our workflow. Submitted means we have your request and payment. Searching means a researcher is running your subject through our data sources across all 50 states. Report Ready means your search report has been compiled and data-verified. Delivered means the finished report has been sent to you. Completed means your search is closed out, including any Skip + Mail, Skip + Ship, or Skip + Serve add-ons you selected.
You do not have to keep checking this page. We send email notifications at each step, from the moment we receive your search to the day your report is delivered, so you always know where your search stands without logging in.
Tracking a search you arranged elsewhere
If you ordered a people search from another provider or are searching on your own, there is usually no public tracker. Most people-search tools do not offer status lookup on a researched report. The most reliable option is to contact your provider directly and reference the date you submitted the request.
Turnaround varies by the subject and how much identifying information you provide, standard searches are delivered in 24 hours or less, with rush same-business-day options available. You can review the current expectations on our processing times page.
